- In the Moy catchment, the best known pike lakes are Levally and Derryhick Lakes (both near Pontoon); Manulla and Carramore Lakes (near Castlebar) and several small lakes in the Knock/Kiltimagh area. Apart from pike, all of these lakes also hold stocks of perch, and, in addition, Eatons (Curragh) Lake, Knock, holds a good stock of bream while Lakehill Pond (also near Knock) holds an excellent stock of tench.

- Killala Bay is a very popular angling centre which is fished from Enniscrone, Killala and Ballina. A wide variety of species is available to boat anglers including ray, dogfish, turbot, megrim and dabs, all of which may be taken over sand while conger, ling, pollack and coalfish are taken from the reefs. On the Moy estuary, which flows into Killala Bay, fishing for sea trout, using sandeel or mackerel strip, is highly popular.
