Once in Ballina you may follow the river out of town towards Sligo. You will meet the traffic lights at the lower Bunree bridge as you leave town. At these lights, take an immeadiate left, then follow this road for 1/2 kilometer and this will bring you directly to the quay where we are located.
The location of Crockets on the Quay at Ballina was once known as Crocketstown, and one of the most unusual sites you're likely to see is the nearly intact surepstructure and hull of ferro-concret tug boat built in the early twentieth century, named the "Crete Boom". The ship was bought by the Ballina Harbour Commisioners in 1937 with a view to sinking it at the entrance to the river Moy to act as a sand stop. While crossing the bar, Crete Boom was damaged below the waterline and was taken to mid-stream and allowed to sink. It remained here until it was moved to the west bank of the river in 1974, where it still stands today.

Crockets on the Quay in Ballina is ideally located to tour County Mayo, situated close to some of the best golf courses in the country, and is internationally renowned as an anglers paradise for game and coarse fishing.
